Training

 Training the tire is much like tunnel training. Tire set low, instructor holds dog, owner peers through opening of tire, pats bottom of tire, holds cookie or toy, calls dog through the tire. Do not rush tire training to attempt run bys as in tunnel training. Careful calculation is required by the dog to pass through the opening of the tire rather than to try cheating by passing through the side of the tire frame. Better to take it slower than to create a problem to fix later. (Katie Greer)
